A Bad Call?

I am overwhelmed...

if you are pregnant read no further

Yesterday I had a funeral for a couple who lost their child at 22 weeks gestation.

What was put into the coffin looked nothing at all like a child... infact it looked like a squashed jelly baby

The first thing that mystified me is that the grandparents wanted to see and view the 'deceased' the were told what they were going to see was not a pleasent sight. (I told them alot more PC then that) Still they said they wanted to see, so we opened the coffin and they were horrified by what they saw and one nearly fainted, to make things worse one Grandma touched 'baby' which did a lot of damage...

Secondly after the service was done they wanted photos taken, not unusual... what is though is the fact that grandparents made the couple who had lost their baby stand behind it and pose as if they were looking down at a child in their crib while the husband had his hand on the mothers stomach. They did this... if my parents asked me to do that I would tell them to go shove their camera...

I make copies of photos for people. We also make them into gifts. Put your photo on a shirt, a mug a mousepad etc
We often get, and I mean often not once, people brining in pictures of their dead babies to have copied. I dont mean a picture of a baby that died after the photo was taken, I mean the picture is of a dead baby. Sometimes it's a still birth, sometimes the child died only a few weeks old. We have even put images of dead babies onto t-shirts. I know everyone deals with their grief in differant ways but it's the one thing I'm really shocked and shaken by.
