1. Pierce the heart and internal organs of a body and remove all bodily fluids and other gunk that is in there.
2. Drive around in a car that has been sitting out in the sun all day that for the previous 2 years has been used to transport dead bodies.
3. Learn about how dangerous my job can actually be.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss
Over the last few days I have had the pleasure of all 3 plus had germaphobia thrust apon me... I used to think that I was pretty good when I came to making sure how conscious I am when it comes to germs and the likes but now I am gonna be a freak. Rhi has nothing on me.
I have just completed an Infectious Control and Advanced Mortuary Care course... and I must say that life is never the same after you have had to glue the scalp back onto someone.
The last few weeks have been quite surreal I must say I have been on more funerals than I have had dinners in a resturant and I am finding myself becoming quite detached and unemotional when it comes to work now...
I am also yet to learn the art of talking to a mourning person as I am scared I will say the wrong thing and make it worse for them, especially when it comes to people who are buring their children.
Suicides are the worst too as the family usually wants to see them so they can say their final good bye and they never look good
